I thought I would share our finished Famous Americans books with you. I really like their covers...I tell them that THE most Famous American that needs to go on their cover is THEM! They love it!! |
The George Washington and Abraham Lincoln artwork came from Deanna Jump's American Symbols unit. |
OK, for Dr. Seuss, I just used the same patterns that I used for Martin Luther King Jr.! I didn't think he would mind. :) |
Brittney, another wonderful Peer Mentor, came to say goodbye after her 8th Grade Graduation. There were tears... |
...and some laughter! We will miss her terribly but wish her well as she moves on to high school. |
I just found your blog tonight. I quickly noticed that many of those famous Americans are famous Alabamians :) I also teach in Alabama. I love the idea of making a book with each person you study. I can't wait to look at all of your other great ideas.

Thank you, Lauren! I am in Huntsville, AL and found a great Alabama study for Kindergarten on Musings of Me. If you look on my sidebar, you can click on her button and find her United States study and look for Alabama. I included this in my American Symbols unit that I got from Deanna Jump! These ladies keep me busy!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for writing! I'm going to check out your blog right now!!
